House 32 Teachers Inspired By Their Students

Teachers are constantly inspired by their students… this idea was just that, shared by one thoughtful House 32 student. One afternoon he walked by a homeless person, as many of us do each day. His mom did not want to give money, so the child asked if they could give food instead?

The idea was to have the kindergarten students of House 32 participate and collect food for hungry people. We thank our students for helping and participating in this truly beautiful example of giving. We collected 283 food items.

We also collected pajamas for needy children. We celebrated our involvement in worthy community projects by having a House 32 Pajama Day! Jean Folsom, Director of Development at Children of Bellevue, came in along with Sarah Bennison, Dorothy's Mom, and spoke to us about our pajama collection. Jean shared a video with us about how our contributions are helping so many children right here in New York City. It was incredibly moving to see. We collected 34 sets of pajamas!!
