Employee Teddy Bear Knitting & Tea Party Supported Disadvantaged Haitian Students
Thanks to Art Teacher Carol Bowen, who extended an invitation to all faculty, staff, and administrators, a group of almost 30 Dalton employee-knitters gathered together for an after school tea and knitting party. They were there to lend their skills to create teddy bears for extremely disadvantaged girls of Notre-Dame du Perpétuel Secours in Bel Air, Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Together, they managed to knit 60 teddy bears.
Dalton's Middle and High School French and Spanish Teacher Michele Viard-Andre has long been a supporter and benefactor of the girls and the school and has created many programs along with Dalton students to support the students in Haiti. Michèle and Carol extend their thanks to each one of the knitters for their time and contributions
