Dalton Students Recognized by Scholastic Art & Writing Awards
16 Dalton artists and 32 Dalton writers received recognition for a total of 40 artworks and 48 written works in the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards competition, announced late last week.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards recognize student achievement in the visual and literary arts in 29 categories, including editorial cartoon, poetry, graphic design, fashion, science fiction, video game design and more. Scholastic defines creative inquiry as any investigation that informs our humanity through art, writing, performance, social science, math, natural and physical sciences, or technology. These awards are the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades 7–12.
