Dalton Model UN hosted its sixth annual conference, DMUN. The Conference consisted of a dozen committees simulating UN bodies and other transnational organizations. From morning until 5:00 PM, over 400 delegates from across the tri-state area delivered speeches, crafted UN-formatted resolutions to address their committees’ predesignated global issues, and engaged in policy negotiations throughout. Thanks to the meticulous planning of Directors-General Piper Williams, Sonia Epelbaum, Elise Bousquette, and Will Bartlett, this iteration of DMUN ran smoothly and spurred meaningful debate. For the funds it raised for Habitat for Humanity and Dalton’s own Model UN team, and for the opportunities for simulated diplomacy that it offered local students, DMUN VI proved to be tremendously valuable.
