Faculty Member Monica Edinger Featured in The New York Times

In her latest NYT contribution, Monica profiles four new children fantasy novels that are gaining traction among kids and adults alike.
Monica explains that children fantasy books are often times unfairly characterized as shallow or inferior to other literary fictions. In reality, this genre offers wildly inventive and entertaining reading experiences that, as Monica writes, "explore weighty themes in highly original ways".

In her article, Monica focuses on four distinct novels:
  • Eventown by Corey Ann Haydu
  • The Lost Girl by Anne Ursu
  • The Storm Keeper's Island by Catherine Doyle
  • Dragon Pearl by Yoon Ha Lee
