Dalton Latin Students Take the National Latin Exam

The World Language Department is proud to announce the results of the National Latin Exam. Each year, over 130,000 Latin students world wide sit for this exam. Of Dalton's 74 participants, 54 students received awards in this exam. Congratulations to all of Dalton's Latin students in Grades 6-12 who took the exam.
The NLE, a multiple choice exam, tests entrants on vocabulary, syntax and translating skills as well as their knowledge of Roman geography, history, mythology, culture, and institutions.

The following is a break down of the results of Dalton's success:
  • Gold Summa Cum Laude award – 18 students
  • Silver Maxima CumLaude award – 25 students
  • Magna Cum Laude –8 students
  • Cum laude – 3 students
  • Certificate of Merit– 1 student
