Dalton students laced up their shoes to benefit a tremendous cause.
On Friday, First graders and their teachers ambled out of the First Program for the first leg of Little Dalton’s annual Walk-a-thon. Over several weeks, students will walk around the school block as a fundraiser to support New York Common Pantry. In addition to the fundraiser, students will volunteer at New York Common Pantry to provide meals to individuals in need and help fight hunger in New York City.
Each First grade House will also allocate a portion of the funds they raise to a charity that the students research and select. The Walk-a-thon is an important First Program tradition as it teaches students how they can serve their community and make a local and global impact through teamwork, commitment, and determination.
