The First Program Spanish teachers designed and presented a joyous and informative House 91 last week in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.
Students were treated to a variety of demonstrations and activities to celebrate Latinx/Hispanic heritage. Included in the celebrations were songs, videos, a salsa dance performance by Barbara Leary and her dance partner, Señor Miguel Castillo, a cajón chant lead by Natalia Hernandez, a pico de gallo cooking demonstration by Cynthia Yánez, and a presentation about the origin of the terms “Latinx” and “Hispanic” by Kavita Rekhi. Students sang, danced, and had tons of fun!
