Asian Cultures Club Hosts Teahouse Event

The HS and MS Asian Cultures Club members hosted the annual Asian Teahouse on Friday, December 6 -- a long-standing, community-wide event at Dalton.
This year, more than 50 students volunteered to help: planning, decorating the space, staffing the kitchen, serving food, managing activity stations, making chai, preparing bubble tea, and more. This year, more than 200 attendees sampled delicious Asian cuisine -- from dumplings to scallion pancakes, bubble tea to Teriyaki Chicken and Curry Lamb. We are grateful to our kitchen staff and chefs for preparing such wonderful dishes! Parents, faculty, staff, and students from all three divisions also participated in activities from various Asian cultures, such as henna art, Suminagashi paper marbling, origami, mahjong playing, and karaoke.

The evening’s festivities also included student performances of K-Pop, C-Pop, and traditional Indian dances by Middle and High School students. The HS Asian Cultures Club heads responsible for the success of this Tea House are Alex Min ’20, Amrita Bala ’20, and Niko Ramirez ’21.

The faculty advisor to both High School and Middle School Asian Cultures Club (ACC) is Roxanne Hsu Feldman, Middle School Librarian, who has been the clubs' advisor since 1998.

More events from the Asian Cultures Club will be forthcoming. Please keep an eye out for the event dates and locations.
