Saluting Dalton Frontline Workers

As nurses, doctors, medical personnel, first responders, volunteers, and other essential workers continue to battle the COVID-19 pandemic, our community extends its thanks and appreciation to the following Dalton parents who are front line and essential workers.
Salil Abdul-Karim - a first responder and FDNY EMT.


Sonali Bose - a physician at Mt. Sinai Hospital.
 

Miriam Challenger - a clinical supervisor at Mt. Sinai Hospital.


Gloria Chiang - a neuroradiologist at NewYork Presbyterian/Weill Cornell taking care of COVID-19 and additional patients suffering from brain disorders.


Gina Desir - a nurse who continues to make home visits to care for sick children and those most vulnerable.


Jeff Edwards - a pediatric critical care doctor taking care of children and adults with COVID-19 in the ICU at Columbia Medical Center. Jeff also volunteers at an adult ICU at Cornell Medical Center.

Emily Finkelstein - a geriatrician working on the frontline at New York Presbyterian Hospital. 


James Ford - a news reporter working in the field to cover COVID-19 stories every day for Channel 11 WPIX.  


Sara Isani - a doctor at Montefiore Medical Center.


Candice Kwan - a physician in the infectious diseases division at Bellevue Hospital, a public hospital that cares for the poor and immigrant population of New York City. During the pandemic, Candice has worked in Bellevue’s COVID-19 epidemiology consult team to guide other physicians managing patients with symptoms suggestive of SARS-CoV-2 infection. 


Rekha Kumar was called in to treat COVID-19 patients in the hospital after not working in that setting for a number of years, but given the crisis, she relearned the ins and outs of hospital work to serve on the frontline.
 

Ella Leers - a physician and medical director at a substance abuse program helping to treat patients for medical, mental health, and substance abuse needs during this pandemic.


Andy Miller - an Infectious Disease Specialist at the Hospital for Special Surgery who is running the hospital's COVID response team and supporting Weill Cornell COVID patients.


Chris Min - a volunteer in the Internal Medicine COVID-19 service at New York Presbyterian Hospital. 


Eri Noguchi is working for the Association to Benefit Children to provide emergency child care for the children of first responders and other essential workers, distributing food to families, and responding to mental-health-related crisis calls concerning children.
 

Mimi Mudekereza - a nurse practitioner and Emergency Room nurse at the New York Presbyterian hospital where she has been caring for COVID-19 patients.


Sonia Newby - a nurse at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
 
 
Anu Shah - an OB-GYN MED supervising the labor floor and delivering children at Mt. Sinai Hospital.


Parent and Alum Peter Taub ’85 - the Program Director for Plastic Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. As part of the health system's response, he has led a team that has treated COVID-19 patients in the ICUs and ER across the system.
 

Matthew Tirschwell - a volunteer of the Ridgewood Volunteer Ambulance Corps in Queens, working 12-hour shifts to respond to the coronavirus pandemic.


Tsering Youdon - a short-term rehab therapist at Mary Manning Walsh Nursing Home serving COVID-19 patients.


Past Parent Anthony Lechich - Medical Director at Mary Manning Walsh Nursing Home, serving some of the most vulnerable COVID-19 populations.


Family member Eskedear Admassu - a nurse in ICCU at BronxCare Hospital.


Family member Susan Shuptar is the manager of the microbiology lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, coordinating COVID-19 testing for all MSKCC patients.
