Dalton Debate Team Stands Strong at Duke Invitational
Following its historic win at the National Season Opener, the Dalton Debate team Zoomed to two more tournaments.
Lucas Ribadeneira ’23, Sam Schollenberger ’23, Annabelle Eng ’23, and Stella Anderson ’22 represented Dalton in the Varsity Division of the Duke Invitational.
In the Junior Varsity Division, Tigers Annika Jha ’24, Felix Gaddie ’23, Rex Popick ’24, Jai Kapoor ’24, Quinton Gallant ’24, Etien Balanzá ’24, Sarah Thomas ’24, Armaan Gill ’24, Rhia Gupta ’23, Tenzin Sangmo ’23, Jools Gray ’24, and Leila Clinton ’24 represented Dalton.
At Duke, Dalton collectively won 19 preliminary rounds with Annika, Felix, Rex, and Jai proceeding to the elimination rounds. Tenzin was recognized as the 5th speaker in the JV Division.
In the Novice Division of the Jack Howe Memorial tournament, Dalton was represented by Zach Berg ’24 and Ashwin Ranjan ’24. After chalking up a 5-1 record in the preliminary rounds, Zach and Ashwin were victorious in eliminations and named tournament champions. In addition, Zach was recognized as 5th speaker among the Novices.
