Indoor Track Team Starts Season By Setting Records
The Dalton Indoor Track team kicked off their season with record-breaking performances.
Sophomore Naomi Gomel '24 continued her historic year. In the team's first two Ivy League Development Indoor Meets of the season, Gomel set the school record in three events - the 600, 1500, and 3000 meter - running a 1:45.79 in the 600 M, 5:14.94 in the 1500 M, and 11:18.41 in the 3000 M.
Junior Nicole Swan '23 and sophomore Danielle Jefferson '24 both ran times that that would be the fastest in school history in the 300 Meter, with Swan narrowly edging Jefferson with a time of 43.71. Swan and Jefferson were also part of the 4x200 relay team that took down the school record in that race in the first Ivy Developmental meet. The pair were joined by sophomores Sasha Galbraith and Ella Dwin to best the previous record by six seconds with a time of 1:53.96.
