You Are What You Eat: HS Seniors Tour Hilltop Hanover Farm

High School Seniors in HS History Teacher Kevin Slick’s elective, “You Are What You Eat: A Critical Investigation into Food Production, Consumption, and Justice,” traveled to Hilltop Hanover Farm in Yorktown Heights, NY this week.
The students toured the farm, witnessed first-hand organic and sustainable agriculture, watershed management, and participated in the local food pathway from start to finish. In addition, the class harvested, prepared, and enjoyed several vegetable dishes made from the farm's produce. This hands-on experience gave students further insight into topics discussed in class.
