High School Wildlife Club Explores Black Rock Forest
Sunny blue skies and spectacular fall foliage greeted the HS Wildlife Club members at Black Rock Forest (BRF) where students learned about ecology and archaeology — while participating in service — during this annual trip.
This year, BRF tasked club members with assisting in an archeological survey. This fascinating opportunity provided students with insight into the forest’s history and its human and ecological history from pre-Columbian times through the Revolutionary War and beyond.
The students also enjoyed one of the world's great natural spectacles, the fall foliage of the forests of Northeast America.
