Students in HS History Teacher Kevin Slick’s class "A Study of Color: History/Theory/ Meaning" explored Josef Albers' book Interaction of Color with guidance and insight from HS Art Teacher Agnes Walden.
Using both computer simulations and hands-on techniques, students engaged with Albers' color theory through the use of color experiments. The students experienced the power of perception when it comes to the experience of color and also examined the relative nature of color when witnessed in various relationships.
Agnes also demonstrated various printmaking techniques to illustrate the significance of color choice.
Overall, it was a great example of a cross-disciplinary project that is possible among the Dalton faculty.
