Mandarin SOPA Stars!

Dalton’s World Languages team has been working for several years with the Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL) and in particular, with SOPA (Student Oral Proficiency Assessment) in our FP Spanish program. CAL has been updating the SOPA and creating a new training program for the revised assessment. They’ve commended Dalton as a Mandarin program of excellence and came this week to the Middle School to film our students in action! 
They recorded close to 30 Middle School Mandarin students on video (with their parents' permission) and some of that footage will make it into the new training materials to be used with WL educators around the world. Special thanks to Mandarin Teachers Cindy Wu and Liqi Semenov for helping to prepare the students for filming, including selecting leveled pairs according to proficiency levels.
