HS Jewish Cultures Club Organizes Lunch and Learns During the Holiday of Sukkot
The HS Jewish Cultures Club organized opportunities for the Middle and High School Divisions to learn about the Jewish holiday of Sukkot over a series of lunches this week. Students, faculty, and staff of all religious backgrounds gathered in the sukkah (a traditional structure for the holiday), which students and faculty from all divisions helped to build and decorate last week. While in the sukkah, the community enjoyed pizza, challah, and cookies.
On Monday, Rabba Wendy Amsellem, faculty at Yeshivat Maharat, shared the tradition of making the sukkah into one's second home. Later in the week, Rabbis from Stephen Wise Free Synagogue discussed the holiday of Sukkot’s themes and traditions. In addition, students had the opportunity to interact with traditional greenery associated with the holiday.
The HS Jewish Cultures Club is incredibly grateful to Dustin Atlas, the Equity and Belonging Office, the Administration, and the entire Dalton community for their enthusiastic support of this project.
