Seniors Take Transcendentalist Nature Walk

Students in the High School senior English Nature Fiction elective went on a nature walk as a part of their nineteenth-century American literature assignment.
Students read “Walking” by Henry David Thoreau and considered how his ideas regarding humans’ experience of nature via the art of sauntering applied to their own experience walking in Central Park. They recorded field notes and compared experiences with peers, which will form the basis for reflection papers.
