"You Are What You Eat" Gets Hands-On Experience

Students in “You Are What You Eat: A Critical Investigation Into Food Production, Consumption, and Justice” partnered with Dalton’s Office of Global & Community Engagement for an engaging service learning experience.
With the guidance of Luke Petronella of Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, students learned how the company rescues pounds of food nationwide. Students then engaged directly in food rescue, resulting in 130 lbs of food rescued and redistributed. This service learning initiative highlights how education and hands-on experiences can empower students to take their learning outside the classroom.
