Sixth graders Devi Tsuboyama '32, Tucker Maxwell Citron '32, and Jeremy Tao '32 have been named winners of the national Scholastic Scope Magazine writing contests, further solidifying Dalton's reputation for nurturing young literary talent.
This marks the fifth time this school year that Dalton students have been recognized for exceptional writing, underscoring the school’s commitment to fostering creativity and academic excellence.
The outstanding work of these writers was selected from thousands of submissions nationwide. Tsuboyama’s piece earned top honors in the John MacFarlane Contest, with the magazine's editors celebrating her "use of text evidence.” Citron was recognized for his unique interpretation of the Latin word root temp, and Tao was praised by the magazine’s editors for his creativity in his Dinosaur contest diary entry.
The Dalton School community congratulates Devi, Tucker, and Jeremy on their impressive accomplishments and looks forward to their continued success as writers.
