Last weekend, the Dalton High School Parliamentary Debate Team competed in the National Parliamentary Debate Tournament of Champions in Oakland, California.
The tournament drew the best parliamentary debate teams from all over the country for a meeting at Head Royce High School.
Dalton had three teams in the competition, a feat in itself as the qualification is a barrier to entry for many teams: Annika Maduraperuma ‘26 and Shreya Ranjan ‘26; Austin Gordon ‘26 and Campbell Langdon ‘26, and Samuel Worthington ‘26 and a debater from Horace Mann all competed from Dalton and debated in seven debate rounds on topics such as tariffs on electric vehicles, act vs. rule-based utilitarianism, the spread of primate cities in developing countries, and many more.
Congratulations to Samuel Worthington, who finished as a quarterfinalist, and Austin Gordon and Campbell Langdon for winning the finals, making them national champions. It was an amazing end to a great season for the Dalton High School Parliamentary Debate Team.
Congratulations to all who participated and made the season so successful.
