In October the third grade students had an opportunity to literally and figuratively "dive" into their learning. The children dragged 30-foot seining nets through the Hudson River at low tide, catching fish and other creatures of the deep. Students categorized and tallied their catch, adding the results to the indoor display at Beczak Environmental Education Center in Yonkers. All students had a chance to pull on the waders, get a little wet and learn about what lives in the flowing waters of the mighty Hudson River.
