Boys Varsity Soccer 2009 NYSAISAA Champions!!

The Dalton Boys Varsity Soccer team entered preseason this year with one common goal in their minds, State Champions.  On Thursday November 5th, there were three games left for them to win and achieve their goal.  The Dalton team began the tournament by defeating Columbia Prep in the quarterfinal game with a score of 2 to 0.  The very next day they took on the Collegiate School.  The game went back and forth and was 2 all at the end of regulation.  Dalton turned it on in overtime, dominating Collegiate.  The Tigers defeated the #1 seeded Collegiate Dutchman 4 to 2.  There was only one team left between Dalton and the state title, the Poly Prep Bluedevils.  The final game was a battle where neither team capitalized on the offensive chances they had early in the game.  In the final 3 minutes Dalton scored two goals and were ready to be named 2009 NYSAISAA Champions.
