By winning the GISAL championship game, Dalton ended up with a 9-1 record, GISAL Playoff Champs, as well as regular season co-champions. Dalton's success all season was due to a solid, balanced play. Timely hitting, fine pitching, and defense was the team's trademark. The team scored 7 runs or more in every game except 1 and only one team scored more than 5 runs against them.
At the championship game of the GISAL playoffs, Dalton held off a determined St Hilda's-St Hugh's team, who rallied in the bottom of the 7th. They closed within 2 and had the tying run at the plate as they scored 4 times in the last inning before Rosie Erlich caught a hard line drive up the middle for the final out. Dalton scored a run in the first which was matched by St Hildas. With another run in the second and one more in the third, Dalton had a short lived 3-1 lead. St Hilda's erupted with 4 runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead 5-3. Dalton bounced back with 3 runs of their own to pull ahead 6-5. St. H went down 1-2-3 in the 4th and Dalton pushed 2 more runs across the plate in the 5th. In the bottom of the 5th, with the top hitters from St. H. up, terrific catches by Sophie Cheston and Claire Steinman kept them scoreless and swung the momentum Dalton's way. Dalton scored 4 runs in the 6th, seemingly putting the game out of reach St H got one more run in th 6th, giving Dalton a 12-6 lead going into the 7th where an excellent hitting St H team rallied to put a scare into the Dalton fans, but the defense got tough when it needed to, pulling out the victory, 12-10. Amanda Schnell was the winning pitcher picking up her 9th win of the season and supplied a lot of offense scoring 3 runs and stealing 5 bases. Molly Keller had 3 hits and 3 RBI's. including a 2 run double down the line which put Dalton ahead for good. Allegra Simon added 3 RBI's and a run scored. Frankie Ott and Gabby Freitag each knocked in 2 runs and scored a run. Rosie Erlich, Gabby Koones, Miranda Wilkens and Claire Steinman all scored runs for Dalton. Zoe Borenstein and Lindsay Jadow added defensive support in a true team victory where everyone contributed.
