A pre-Thanksgiving tradition for Dalton Seniors, Ponderosa is a well-deserved pressure release from a busy fall semester of college applications and intensive course work.
On Thursday evening, Ponderosa eve, chaperoned Seniors gathered at the physical education building, many in their onesies, to spend an overnight of bonding, laughing and eating gobs of stuff which is a far cry from health food. After a sleepless night, they arrived back to 89th Street to snuggle like sardines in sleeping bags in the Senior lounge. After too little rest they exploded into the auditorium for long house and a high-energy and well-rehearsed rock concert by several talented performers who rotated instruments and jumped on and off of the stage. Typically the concert takes place in front of the building on 89th Street and is accompanied by a western barbecue, but this year’s students decided to move inside for rock on the stage and donuts.
