4th, 5th and 6th Grade Martin Luther King Jr. Assembly
4th, 5th and 6th grades students combined their many talents to present an assembly in honor of Dr. Marin Luther King Jr.'s birthday on January 14, 2011.
Several read stories describing significant historic moments of the Civil Rights Movement, King's life, his many contributions and his ultimate sacrifice. Groups of students provided gripping dramatic re-enactments. They presented a slideshow with graphic images of the protests in to illustrate and acompany their prose. Those on stage invited also sang and invited the the audience to join them in singing the traditional and symbolic hymn of the Civil Rights Movement, "Lift up Your Voice."
