Harlem Art & Culture Tour - Part of Professional Development Day, 2011

On the day after the National Presidents' Day holiday, while Dalton students and their families were enjoying one more day of a four-day weekend, the faculty and staff returned to school to participate in and/or to teach over 50 workshops on a very broad range of topics.

History teacher Geoffery Gund provides this account and photographs of the participants of the Harlem Art & Culture Tour.

"We first had lunch at Londel’s Restaurant in Harlem and then went on walking tours in two groups. Among other things we saw Strivers’ Row, the Abyssinian Baptist Church, the Statute of Adam Clayton Powell, the place where Marcus Garvey had his headquarters and a statue of Harriet Tubman. Our group was led by Zachary Aarons, Dalton class of 2001."
