Annual Thanksgving Dinner for our Friends at Carter Burden
Monday, November 21 marked the first of the Dalton High School Community Service Committee's local community functions. Around 30 members of the committee came together to decorate the cafeteria and host approximately 50 senior citizens from the Carter Burden Home of the Aging for the school's annual Thanksgiving Dinner.
With the help of Walter Lyczkowski, Food Service Administrator and the kitchen staff, the students greeted and entertained the seniors, and served them a traditional home-cooked holiday meal. The night was made complete with a performance from Sweet'nLow, the High School's a cappella group, which wowed the senior citizens with heartfelt songs thought to be of "professional" quality. The community service plans to host another of these dinners in February for Valentine's Day.
