For the first time on Dalton Chorus trips, two Dalton students played very beautiful Chamber Music and our cellist accompanied some of the chorus pieces.  
We toured the cities of Munich and Nuremberg, Germany, and Salzburg, Austria, with other concerts in:

• Herzogenaurach, where the Chorus had a joint concert with their HS Youth Choir who also prepared dinner for us.
• Wangen, Germany, a picture postcard town where some of us stayed with families who had welcomed the families of American firefighters after 9/11, and gave a standing-room-only concert.  The town gave us a St. Patrick's Day dinner on March 17th.  The warmest, most delightful people.
• St. Wolfgang, a spectacular town on a lake bordered by the Alps.  A very cold church for the concert but a very warm audience.
  

The group sang briefly in the Salzburg Cathedral and in Neuschwanstein Castle (inspiration for the Disney Castle) to appreciative audiences.  Both were amazing places.  Sunny, warm weather except for a lot of snow the day of the castle visit, which transformed it into a winter wonderland.   The group also enjoyed tasting new local foods such as regional types of sausages and "Mozartkugel" (the original chocolate and marzipan sweets only found in Salzburg).
