In the U.S. on business from England, the school invited Mr. Condy, a music publication editor in the UK, for a quick tour of the building. He explained upon arriving that his father was piecing together the family tree and hoped he could take a few minutes while in NYC to peek behind the noble, nearly unchanged, and recently restored brick facade. Gratified that the school had preserved some of the original interior details in the Livingroom and lobby entrance, Mr. Condy took a few snapshots of the architecture for his family's archives. While here, he was surprised to learn that the building had changed hands a few times before Dalton purchased it in the early 70's. In exchange for the tour, he provided Dalton with a scanned post card of the "House" and a photo of Mr. May, posing with a group of contemporaries, which we will add to the Dalton Archive.

Mr. Condy spoke about his uncle, who was dearly remembered by his family for his incredible generosity, his financial success and also for his close friendship with neighbor, Andrew Carnegie. Mr. May, an accountant, penned the book, Memoires and Accounting Thought, which was published late in his life, in 1962. He hailed from the Plymouth region of England, and settled in America in his 20's, becoming a partner of Price Waterhouse Cooper.
