Exciting and Groundbreaking Month for Dalton High School Robotics Program

On February 8, Dalton hosted its first FTC robotics competition, which was an official qualifier for the NYC championship and On February 15, the two high school robotics teams, Atomic Theory and Quantum Mechanics, competed at the Murry Bergtraum School's regional qualifier.
The two Dalton teams joined forces with the LREI team to win the top award as the winning alliance team and qualify for the NYC Championship on March 8. At Dalton's hosted event in the 87th Street gym, twenty three teams, totaling more than 200 students, competed in a 10 hour event that was run by Dalton robotics students.  The event was a resounding success in the NYC robotics community, and the crowd of spectators were excited and engaged. The regional director said that the Dalton students' "initiative, professionalism and hard work are unparalleled."  
 
Quantum Mechanics also placed second for the prestigious Inspire award at the Murry Bergtraum regional qualifier. The Inspire award is given only to teams that excel in all aspects of the program. Quantum also won the Motivate award for team building, spirit and enthusiasm. Atomic Theory won the Connect award for interacting with the engineering community in New York and abroad.
