15 dedicated members of the Constitution Club travelled with Ms. Edwards and Mr. Thomas to Philadelphia on Wednesday, April 9, 2014. The students visited the National Constitution Center where they watched the interactive presentation on the Constitution and then engaged with the various exhibits in the center.
The highlight of the day was the remarkable opportunity the club had to speak with the President of the Center, Professor Jeff Rosen, a Dalton alum. Professor Rosen invited the group into a conference room for a private discussion about what the club has considered this year and students had the chance to posit ideas, ask questions, and hear Professor Rosen's thoughtful assessments. It was a marvelous exchange. The group is so appreciative of Professor Rosen's generosity and kindness. Before leaving, the group visited the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and paid their regards at the graveside of Benjamin Franklin. It was a successful day of learning more about the document the club is so invested in studying!
