Joanna Brotman and Blake Pearson's seventh/eighth grade dance classes culminate each year with DanceWAVE (Working Artists Video Ensemble). DanceWAVE 2014 evolved out of a study of Jerome Robbins choreography for the film “West Side Story”. Each of the five dance classes analyzed and reconstructed a different dance from the film, learning original Robbins choreography and creating their own dances inspired by the film "in the style of the master."
These dances were performed and filmed on location in various sites on the Upper East Side, and edited together to become Dalton's own “East Side Story,” which you can watch below, or at: http://bit.ly/esstoryCool! Go! Crazy!
