Members of the Middle School Maker Club cleverly engineered a method to place a small pumpkin under a laser cutter to burn the Dalton Seal directly into the skin.
In order to accomplish their goal, the students improvised a make-shift cradle, made of tape and cardboard, to enable the cutter to move freely over the irregular surface. This kind of ingenuity, a melding of high-tech science and art, is a great example of STEAM problem-solving at its best and most fun.
