Anansi Does the Impossible Performed by House 33

"House 33 performed "Anansi Does the Impossible" for grandparents and parents over the last week. We incorporated our learning about animals in their habitats, African dance and puppetry and added short movies we made on the ipad. Our dance and theater teacher Justin Greer supported the children as they negotiated, collaborated and choreographed their dances.

Story Submitted by Jenny and Rosalinda, Kindergarten Teachers

Anansi the Spider is a character from a series of Trickster Tales that originated in West Africa and we can find versions of these stories in the Caribbean, South America and the southern United States. Our version is an adaptation of a story by Verna Aardema."
