2015 Shinnyo Lantern Floating for Peace

As part of Dalton's ongoing Global Initiatives, thirty third graders from Little Dalton performed on an outdoor stage at Lincoln Center as part of the 2015 Shinnyo Lantern Floating for Peace on Sunday, September 20. Thousands of New Yorkers and visitors from all over the globe gathered in Hearst Plaza at Lincoln Center creating lanterns with messages for world peace and floating them in the Paul Milstein Reflecting Pool.
Led by faculty member Justin Greer, our third graders performed a dramatization of My Subway Ride by Jennifer Swender and Paul Dubois Jacobs and ended with a rousing medley of songs dedicated to New York City. Their exuberant presence filled everyone with joy as they created their lanterns during the day.
