Dalton Parent Makes and Donates PPE to Alum Physician
Dr. Chun Lam ’88, a nephrologist at The Rogosin Institute (NYP-Cornell and NYP-Lower Manhattan Hospital) and her colleagues, are shown (in the accompanying photo) wearing face shields created by current Dalton parent Melissa Beyer using 3D printing technology.
Dr. Lam and Melissa connected via the Interschool PPE Committee that Dr. Theodore Schwartz ’83 and James Solomon (Collegiate ’83) established. The Interschool PPE has been instrumental in coordinating PPE donations to area hospitals in need.
Dr. Lam states, “Melissa’s masks were much appreciated by my ICU, Nephrology, and Medicine colleagues (and me!). In the middle top photo of the collage, I’m pictured with the ICU director. Her mask is great (thoughtfully designed and practical). A big thank you from my colleagues and me.”
If you or your place of business have Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to donate for use by New York City's frontline healthcare workers, please consider donating here.
