Fourth Graders Travel through Time in Annual Ellis Island Simulation

Students from the Class of 2028 journeyed back to the early 1900s in Dalton's annual Ellis Island Simulation.
In the simulation, students experienced what it would have been like for families emigrating to the United States during the turn of the century. Throughout the day, groups of students steered through meticulous procedures such as crowded inspections, immigrant interviews, special inquiries, legal hearings, and medical exams. At the end of the lesson, students learned important research skills by understanding their immigrant persona as well as the historical factors that drove immigrants to the United States.

We'd like to thank our faculty, staff, and parents for volunteering their to time to create this wonderful and important event!
