Ashley Smyth, Trustee

Ashley Smyth is a mediator and an advocate in the foster care division of Manhattan Family Court. She previously worked in not-for-profit and public sector management, including overseeing policy development and health care service improvement in the administrations of New York City Mayors Michael Bloomberg and Rudolph Giuliani, the Mount Sinai Medical Center and a private foundation. She also co-led the creation of a national not-for-profit founded to improve transparency in healthcare cost information. She is a graduate of Bowdoin College and holds masters degrees in public health and public administration from Columbia University.

Ashley has served on the Dalton Board of Trustees since 2016. She is the Chair of the Committee on Trustees and a member of the Executive, Finance, and DEI Committees. She previously served on and then chaired the Dalton Council, and has volunteered for the Dalton Parents Association in a number of roles. Ashley also serves on the Boards of the Center for Urban Community Services (CUCS) and the International Preschools and is a former trustee for Power of Two and Pollyanna. Ashley and her husband have three sons who are students in Dalton’s middle and high schools.
