Coach Samuelsen Honored by Hall of Fame Ivy League Award
Former beloved Teacher and Coach Roy Samuelsen ’73 was inducted into the Ivy League Hall of Fame on Tuesday, June 6. Roy, who taught physical education at the school for 40 years, became the third Daltonian to be enshrined in the league's Hall of Fame, joining Allan Boyers and David Dunkel.
While a coach at Dalton, Roy won two state championships, three football titles, and coached 115 seasons. To date, Roy has been enshrined in three Halls of Fame. He was in the inaugural class of the David Dunkel Dalton Hall of Fame in 1995 and then 11 years later was inducted into the Springfield College Athletics Hall of Fame. Roy's family and many of his former colleagues helped celebrate this impressive achievement.
