Dalton Baseball Wins First Ivy League Championship

Dalton Varsity Baseball pulled off a thrilling 5-4 walk-off victory over Poly Prep, securing the first Ivy League Championship in program history. The last time Dalton Baseball won a league title was in 1986 as part of the MAAPS league, making this historic Ivy League win even more special.
Senior Chase Callahan played a key role, driving in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh and striking out 10 over five innings on the mound. Senior Micah Schein earned the win in relief, striking out four in two innings of work.

Dalton’s bats delivered with 11 hits and six walks, setting the tone for a gritty offensive effort. Seniors Ryan Feder and Jackson Herzog came up big, with Feder’s clutch double tying the game in the fifth and Herzog’s RBI double putting Dalton ahead in the sixth. Sophomore Chase Nelson added two RBIs and worked a game-tying walk in the seventh to keep the Tigers alive.

The win brings the Tigers to 10-3 on the season, carrying momentum into Monday’s matchup against Horace Mann and a hopeful postseason run ahead.
