Dalton community members continue to be shining examples of support and positivity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Alum Angie Cui '16 has teamed up with colleagues and other Dalton alumni for Feed the Frontlines NYC, an initiative that delivers free, nutritious, hearty meals to front line healthcare workers while putting local restaurants back to work. Since mid-March, the initiative has delivered over 80,000 meals to 41 hospitals in New York while inspiring sister organizations in 10 other cities across the US.
Alumnae Dr. Emily Lebowitz '08 and Dr. Isabella Newman '09 are working together as interns in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, providing medical relief on the front lines.
Alum James Roth '71 is working full-time as an internist at an NYC hospital and is providing compassionate care to those in need during this difficult and challenging time.
Parent Elaine Sun launched the Global Thank You Project, a grassroots movement of gratitude and unity. The initiative asks families and individuals to decorate a mask that says “Thank You” in any language and wear it in our communities. Individuals can also send a photo of themselves wearing their mask along with a note of gratitude to the scientists, doctors, nurses, frontline workers, and many more COVID-19 relief workers who are working to heal and find a cure. For more information on the project and how to send a positive message of unity, visit globalthankyouproject.com.
