As close friends, Dana and Andrew grew up a few blocks away from one another in New York City. Over the 75-minute event, Dana asked Andrew about a wide-range of topics including his time at Dalton, childhood experiences in New York City, his personal growth from drug addiction, the intersection of food and storytelling, and the power travel has to teach perspective and transform personal behavior.

The Zimmern List. Andrew sits as a member of the Board of Directors for Services for the UnderServed, Project Explorer, Taste of the NFL, and Soigné Hospitality. He also serves on City Harvest’s Food Council and is the International Rescue Committee’s Voice for Nutrition. Andrew is a founding member of the Independent Restaurant Coalition, fighting to save restaurants impacted by Covid-19.
Dana Cowin is an American author, editor, and radio show host, best known for her two decades as the Editor-in-Chief of
Food & Wine magazine. From 1975 to 2016, Dana supervised every aspect of the brand’s expansive media platform and introduced the magazine’s annual "Best New Chefs" award and "Most Innovative Women in Food & Drink". Dana went on to found DBC Creative and is currently Chief Brand Advisor for Dig Food Group and the host of
Speaking Broadly, a podcast where she conducts intimate interviews with brilliant, powerful women in the food world about their lives and careers. During the pandemic, Dana and her partner founded Roar.NY, an advocacy and fundraising group dedicated to saving NYC restaurants. Her brother Dan Cowin is a member of Dalton’s Class of ’73.
