Spanish Classes Participate in Art-at-Home Photo Challenge

All over the country while in quarantine, people are exploring great works of art from virtual collections of museums around the world.
Some are even recreating this art using household objects — and so, our Dalton Spanish students decided to join in the fun!

To begin, students in Spanish 1 MS classes researched Hispanic artists: Fernando Botero (Colombia), Pablo Picasso (Spain), Salvador Dalí (Spain), Francisco de Goya (Spain), Diego Velázquez (Spain), Diego Rivera (Mexico), Frida Kahlo (Mexico), and José Guadalupe Posada (Mexico).

Students then selected a favorite painting and recreated the scene using only items that they found at home. Students were encouraged to recruit family members and pets to help them to bring the image to life!

We hope you enjoy our collection of student re-created Hispanic art. Want to get involved? Be sure to participate in the Dalton Library and Museum Program's Art at Home Challenge
