In this tournament, Dalton’s Dylan Challenger '23, Julia Miyasaka '24, and Hannah Chan '30 excitedly joined the coaching staff led by Head Coach and Women International Master (WIM) Beatriz Marinello and National Master Jerald Times. The girls enjoyed reviewing their games and learning from the older Dalton chess players.
Throughout the championship, the girls heartwarmingly welcomed the newcomers, chatted about their games and school, read and drew together, and wished each other to “have a good game!”
The girls did a fantastic job scoring high in four different sections! Every team member earned a trophy or medal, including Diane Myers '34, who is now the NYC Girls K-2 Co-Champion after tying for first place.
Congratulations to all the girls who participated in this event.
