MS Mandarin Students Embark on a Fun-Filled Field Trip to Chinatown
Seventh and eighth graders studying MS Mandarin took a memorable field trip to New York City's Chinatown. They visited the MOCA (Museum of Chinese in America) museum and the Pearl River Mart, where they saw the art exhibit "Our Roots Run Deep" by Asian artist Warren King.
Students explored the history of Chinese Americans through the museum's exhibits and learned about King's art pieces. They were fascinated by the various displays of Chinese artifacts, artwork, and cultural significance. The group then enjoyed exploring the vibrant Chinatown neighborhood with its unique sights, sounds, and flavors.
While enjoying a dim sum and bubble tea lunch at a local restaurant, the group relaxed and reflected on their experience. The students left feeling enriched by their exposure to Chinese culture and eager to continue learning more. This field trip – a perfect blend of education and fun – made it a memorable day for all who attended.
