The following includes a summary of expected construction activities for the month of July. Please review relevant information about the exterior, interior, projected crane work, and DOB permitted construction hours.
Exterior work:
Front
Installation of a temporary construction fence in front of Dalton
Six full days of street closure for crane work (see more detail below)
Rooftop
Installation of roof top protective netting
Selective removal of mechanical and masonry
Electrical relocation work as well as steel and deck installation
Interior work:
Existing column reinforcement will continue
Selective pipe insulation abatement (reduction or lessening)
Electrical relocation and new riser work
Street closure for crane work:
As a reminder, 89th Street (between Lexington and Park Avenue) will be closed for two 3-day periods this month from July 5 to July 7 and July 25 to July 27. Crane work will be performed during extended hours as permitted by the DOB between 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM. During the full street closures, Dalton will have a minimum of six flag persons and security on the street 24-hours a day to facilitate emergency vehicular access and safe pedestrian passage.
Construction Hours (excluding crane work):
Construction work will occur during normal DOB construction hours on weekdays from 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM with no exterior work commencing prior to 8:00 AM. No project deliveries will occur prior to 7:30 AM on weekdays.
Saturday work:
Please be aware of Saturday work on July 8, 15, 22, and 29 from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, pending DOB approval. The construction work includes interior work as well as necessary rooftop modifications. There will be minimal impact to building access, vehicular traffic, and pedestrian walkways.
